The Chautauqua County Humane Society is gearing up for its second annual Pet Expo 2026, a day designed to celebrate collaboration, community, and the shared mission of helping animals.
Presenting sponsors include Supportive Divorce Solutions and Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa while The Post-Journal is a media sponsor.
Shelters, rescues, vendors, and animal lovers from across Western New York and northeastern Pennsylvania will come together at the Northwest Arena on Saturday, Oct. 17, creating a space where connection, learning and lifesaving work intersect. The adoption side of the event will give families the chance to meet pets who are ready for their fresh start.
Last year's Pet Expo brought together eight shelters and rescues, and this year that network is already growing. So far, CCHS Pet Expo 2026 will welcome Happy Bark, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Paws Along the River, Phoenix Humane Society of Greater Cattaraugus Inc., Small Town Shelter, and of course the Chautauqua County Humane Society. TSE Wildlife Center and Wild Creatures will also be on hand to show their work that supports area wildlife and exotic animals.
Shelters and rescues are invited to sign up at no cost and are encouraged to fundraise on their behalf at the event. This year's shelter and rescue village is also supported by Subaru Loves Pets, Shults Subaru, and The Shults Auto Group, whose commitment to animal welfare strengthens the lifesaving work happening across the region.
"What we saw last year was special," said Brian Papalia of the Chautauqua County Humane Society. "Shelters, rescues, and animal lovers come together to support each other, and show the community just how many people are out there working hard for animals. It takes something as big as a pet expo to slow us down long enough to connect and benefit from being in the same space. The adoptions, the conversations, the fundraising all lift everyone. CCHS is proud to bring everyone together again for year two."
CCHS Pet Expo 2026 will also feature dozens of vendors, demonstrations, and interactive exhibits. For more information visit Chqhumane.org.
