Humane Society’s Pet Expo returns in October

The Chautauqua County Humane Society is preparing for the return of CCHS Pet Expo '26, set for Oct. 17 at the Northwest Arena.
Presented by Supportive Divorce Solutions and Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa, this year's expo expands on the success of last year's inaugural event with new exhibits, hands‑on activities and returning events that highlight the joy pets bring to the community.
Pet Expo '26 introduces several major additions designed to educate, entertain and engage families. One of the most anticipated new features is Grossology: The Hidden Health of Pets presented by Chautauqua Chemicals Company and Moonbrook Veterinary Hospital, an interactive exhibit that explores the "gross" side of pet care like odd smells, and other everyday messes, and explains what these clues can reveal about an animal's health. Presented in a fun, science‑museum style. Grossology helps families understand early signs of illness and learn practical ways to keep pets healthy.
Another addition is the region's longest Pet Art and Agility Course, a nearly 200‑foot experience combining movement, enrichment, and creativity. Dogs can navigate agility elements while enjoying art designed specifically for canine senses, offering a unique look at how pets perceive the world and how enrichment supports their wellbeing.
Alongside these new attractions, the expo brings back a community favorite: Layla's Pet Costume Parade. The family‑friendly event invites pets and their people to show off their most imaginative costumes. Visitors will also find adoptable animals, a variety of local vendors, a humane education experience and opportunities to learn more about Chautauqua County Humane Society programs and services.
