First Presbyterian Church is hosting a spaghetti dinner and basket raffle at the church, 509 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown on Sunday, Aug. 2, from noon to 3 p.m. to benefit the Shultz family.
The family is shouldering a financial burden of paying medical expenses for their daughter, Trinity. After being hospitalized for nearly two weeks, Trinity has just begun an extended period of recovery that involves medically necessary equipment that insurance has repeatedly denied. As a result of the recovery period, Trinity will not be able to work for several months. Additionally, her father, Scott, is a disabled Marine Corps veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Due to the combination of medical expenses and past-due bills, First Presbyterian Church members are hosting a benefit to ease the family's financial burden.
More than 50 baskets will be offered in the raffle with donations from local businesses, organizations and members of the community with a variety of items ranging from food and wine to toys and games to restaurant and arena tickets. Additionally, a quilt titled "Hymn Songburst," created and donated by Janice Shoup of Quilters Haven, will be raffled at the event.
Tickets for dinner and raffles will be available at the door. Dinner tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Take-out meals will be available. Early ticket purchases for the Quilter’s Haven quilt can be made via the church office of First Presbyterian Church.
