Clymer’s water project on track to finish this fall

CLYMER -- The town of Clymer's water project is steadily moving forward, and remains on track for its planned finish in the fall of 2026.
During the Clymer town board's July meeting, Town Supervisor Brian Willink said in the monthly meeting with the contractors in charge of the project everyone remains happy with the way things are going.
"They're hoping to be done by the fall of 2026 as long as the weather holds and there's no major delays for anything," Willink said. "They've been getting some better weather recently, which has been welcome by them."
Willink acknowledged that during the week of the meeting the weather was very warm, but that the crew was working through it. Reconstruction has begun in some places, and Willink said people can see some dirt piles around where they are getting ready to start smoothing things out and getting everything back in place.
"They're probably going to be coming through town if they haven't started already," Willink said. "It's going to be imminent. They're working their way; they held off as long as they could. They wanted to wait until school was out before they did anything in front of the school, which they did."
Willink noted that there will be some disruptions coming soon, but that there is no way around it. Highway Superintendent Scott Trisket talked briefly about where the crews currently are working in the town, along with what is left to put in in regards to the new water meters. Only one three quarter meter is left, along with one big one left at the bank. Getting an official date that the water project would be finished was also discussed, as someone in town is looking to fix a flooding problem but wants to wait until the water project crews are finished and out of the town.
