City to unveil Comprehensive Plan Wednesday
Jason Kulaszewski
Jamestown’s comprehensive plan has reached its final stages.
Jason Kulaszewski, city principal planner, said the city is ready to begin circulating the plan, including at a public meeting Wednesday, June 10, at the James Prendergast Library for a public presentation of the draft Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and include a brief presentation about key points in the comprehensive plan and an introduction to the Zoning Code update. The plan is available at www.cscos.com/jamestown-comprehensive plan.
“Because we’re using the same vendor for our comp plan and the zoning process and zoning comes right after the comprehensive plan, we’re kind of doing both meetings in one,” Kulaszewski said.
The idea is also so that the Department of Development can stay on track through the summer and make the most of their summer outreach, Kulaszewski added.
Kulaszewski also updated the planning commission on Safe Streets For All, with the outreach for that, he said, kicking off more in June. June 27 the city will participate in the Prendergast Library’s block party, and then every Wednesday throughout the summer from July through August Kulaszewski will be there tabling.
“On Wednesdays they have a summer reading group, a youth reading group where the mobile market is also at the library,” Kulaszewski said. “So, we’re going to be there to have a drop in, which I’ll use for the Safe Streets For All and also hopefully the zoning and the comp plan and other initiatives we have going on in the DOD.”
