CLYMER — Clymer residents no longer have to travel to other areas to get their coffee fix, with the opening of a new coffee shop trailer right downtown, Twin Flame Coffee Company.

Located at 8734 East Main Street, Twin Flame Coffee Company is owned by sisters Anna Heiser and Makenna Woods. Twin Flame is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends throughout the month of May, with their official opening day being held last Friday, May 1. Their next day of operation this month is May 10.

“This was something we’ve talked about for years,” Heiser said. “We both really enjoy coffee and there isn’t anything really around here that’s like the coffee that we like. We love Clymer and we wanted to grow something in our community.”

Twin Flame currently offers three specials, a cake batter latte, blackberry matcha, and chocolate pistachio latte. They also offer items for plain coffee lovers such as espressos, drip coffee, cold brew, chai tea, other matchas, cappuccinos, lattes, and hot chocolate, with a variety of flavors available for each. They also currently offer baked goods such raspberry jam toast cookies, blueberry coffee cake and a peanut butter smores bar.

Twin Flame offers both a walk up window and a drive-thru, giving options for both drivers and non-drivers, and people who may just be out and around downtown.

“I think we’re a good alternative to chain drive-thrus,” Heiser said. “That was something that was also very important to us, was to have a drive-thru. Having kids made me see how important drive-thrus are and that leaves a lot of chains as your only option.”

Additionally, Heiser said not a lot of places locally have drive-thrus. A lot of care and attention was also put into the menu and making things that the pair liked, to be able to serve items they are proud of.

“I also think we try to branch out and do different stuff,” Woods said. “A lot of things like the matcha and the chai people aren’t familiar with, but then they try it and they really enjoy it.”

Heiser added that coffee does not have to be boring, and that it can be fun.

Woods is also graduating from college, and with this plan being in the works for a while, she said it is cool to be able to say that Twin Flame is what she is doing and to see it finally come together.

“It’s fun to see now that it’s here and we get to start it,” Woods said.

For Heiser, the shop is important to her as well, as she said that she has found as a parent one can lose parts of their individuality, and this project allows her to have that.

“This is like a passion project,” Heiser said. “It’s real and I’m so proud of it.”

The overall project is a passion project, the pair emphasized, adding that they have been very intentional about the things they created and have on the menu, and that it is not just to make money. Heiser said they hope to become a staple in the community and be in people’s routines, forming relationships with people they would not normally get to connect with.

“I think when we were doing our graphic design stuff and just starting out and she was asking what we wanted our focus to be, it was that we wanted to stand out but we didn’t want to make things difficult for people,” Woods said. “I think that helps with the drive-thru. We just want to be something they can fit into their life and not have it be stressful or overwhelming. We just want it to be easy and accessible.”

Being easy and accessible is important, the pair said, emphasizing that they want it to be a place where people feel welcome and happy to be at. Heiser said they are passionate about their product, but are not “snobby coffee people”. The shop is just starting, and the pair said there will be more to come in the future.
