North Main Street Zoning Variance Tabled

The Zoning Board of Appeals’ regular April meeting saw one lone petition for a zoning variance request from Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union up for consideration and tabled for the next meeting.

The petition asks for a variance on a parcel owned by the Credit Union at 811 North Main Street. The parcel is located in a C-2 zone and the petition notes that “warehousing” is not permitted in a C-2 zone and only allowed with approval from the ZBA in C-3, C-4 and C-M zoning districts.

No one representing Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union was in attendance at the meeting to speak on the petition.

“I do know our Principal Planner has been trying to get in touch with them,” ZBA Member Todd Thomas said. “There is some communication error. I believe we have confirmation they want to proceed.”

It was agreed to table the petition until the next meeting of the ZBA, as not all members were present at the meeting as well.

“It takes four votes to do anything with the Zoning Board of Appeals, we have had a motion approved to table this, so we will schedule a meeting as soon as we can, or our next regular meeting in May on this agenda item,” ZBA Chairwoman Ellen Ditonto said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
