Famous Supply, a store that holds more than 50 other locations nationwide, found its new home on Allen Street Extension. Now that the business is up and running, supplying for local construction or renovation crews can be potentially revolutionized as the business enters into the county’s residential, commercial and industrial market segments.

The location was officially opened to the public following a ribbon cutting ceremony that took place on March 26. This ribbon cutting would celebrate the grand opening for the location, offering visitors the chance to have an open house experience from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. The location itself totals a whopping 20,000 square feet, with about 6,200 square feet of that being dedicated to self-serve counter space and a room that various specific training classes can take place in.

“But in a very short amount of time we had so many customers in this area that we said you know what we need to find a branch.

So we got very lucky we found a beautiful building, but more importantly we found a great team of people and we have a great group here,” said Company President Brian Blaushild. “In 93 years we’ve actually never shut down a branch, so we’ve only grown and only added. This is now, I think, our 72 locations, hopefully on our journey to 100.”

Some local elected officials chose to say some words of appreciation at the ribbon cutting. This included Falconer Trustee Nicki Pierce, Ellicott Town Clerk Amy Bellardo, Melissa Paterniti on behalf of Assemblyman Andrew Molitor, R-Westfield, and Brian Abram on behalf of U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy. These representatives thanked Blaushild and the entirety of the team for choosing such a location for the new spot. Not only will this offer employment and tax opportunities for these municipalities, but will help to supply necessary items to businesses and individuals all around the county.

We wish them all the best as they embark on this exciting new venture and hope their business thrives in our wonderful community,” said Ellicott Town Supervisor Janet Bowman. “We are eager to see the unique products and services Famous Supply brings to our town and we will continue to work with them to ensure the success of their new store.”
