The Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau recently presented customer service excellence awards to employees of the local tourism industry.

Recipients included: Jess Splawski, general manager of the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House; and Amber Huber, front office manager of the Doubletree by Hilton – Jamestown.

“These recipients do excellent work for their employers and provide visitors with great customer service,” said Andrew Nixon, CCVB president and CEO. “They also share their extensive knowledge of the local area, businesses and attractions. This ensures visitors have the best experience possible in Chautauqua County and supports the entire tourism industry.”

Bryce and Rachael Steffen, owners of the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House, nominated Splawski for the award, praising her work ethic, positive attitude and attentiveness.

“Jess Splawski exemplifies what true hospitality looks like in a tourism-driven community,” they wrote in their nomination. “As general manager of Bemus Point Golf Club & Tap House, she leads from the floor, not from behind a desk. Visitors do not just experience a meal, a round of golf, or an event, they experience being genuinely welcomed, cared for, and remembered. That starts with Jess. She sets the tone every day through her energy, attentiveness, and sincere care for people.”

Brandon O’Dell, area operations director/GM for Doubletree by Hilton – Jamestown, nominated Huber for the award. This is the second recent honor for Huber, who also received the Lodging Employee of the Year Award from the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association last year.

“This award recognizes Amber’s outstanding dedication, warm hospitality, and the way she goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome,” O’Dell wrote. “She truly embodies what exceptional guest service is all about, and we couldn’t be more proud to have her on our team.”

The Chautauqua County Visitor’s Bureau created the awards to recognize and foster customer service excellence within the Chautauqua County tourism industry. CCVB plans to present another round of customer service excellence awards in the fall months and will announce a formal nomination timeline to tourism industry businesses.

“We’re proud to present the customer service excellence award to these deserving recipients, and we look forward to honoring more employees soon,” Nixon said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
