FINDLEY LAKE – The Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department has certified three of its members as Emergency Medical Technicians, bringing the department’s EMT crew up to eight active volunteers.

The newly certified EMTs are Pam Kadish, Robert McNinch and Morgan Motherwell, who completed months of rigorous training and exams.

“This is another significant milestone for our fire department and our community,” said Charles Armstrong, Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department EMS/Rescue Captain. “A deep bench of certified EMTs allows us to respond faster and provide critical care when our neighbors need it most. In 2025, EMS calls rose by 30% compared to the previous year–a clear reflection of growing community needs. I’m incredibly proud of our department’s commitment to recruiting and mentoring new volunteers while continuing to support and retain our existing members.”

In 2025 the department invested in a new ambulance to further strengthen emergency response capabilities. In addition, three of its EMTs volunteered to complete instructor certification, supporting Chautauqua County’s efforts to train the next generation of emergency medical technicians.

The department remains committed to ongoing training and recruitment, with a focus on expanding a skilled volunteer force capable of delivering high-quality fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.

Starting at $3.50/week.
