The new year for the city of Jamestown has officially begun, bringing with it new council members and a technical problem with the city’s ability to live stream meetings.

During her report at Monday’s work session, Mayor Kim Ecklund said the city’s livestreaming program is currently undergoing a software update, causing some technical problems with livestream capabilities. This also caused the videos of both the work session and that night’s public hearing to have to be recorded and uploaded the next morning.

“It didn’t work last week but then it worked last week during the week for the ZBA and it’s not working tonight so it’s very hit or miss and we’re not sure what’s going on with it, but we will address it,” Ecklund said.

Besides the technical problems, Ecklund also welcomed all of the new members of city council during her report. Ecklund thanked them for running and being willing to take on the seat.

“I also would advise you, there’s a lot of things that go on and a lot of questions, so if you need anything from the staff or department heads, let them know ahead of time so we can make sure we have answers for you when you get here, so no one gives you an ‘I don’t know’,” Ecklund said.

Ecklund said that also helps them be able to get back to everybody at the meeting instead of at different times throughout the week.

Starting at $3.50/week.
