United Way of Chautauqua County (UWCHQ) recently received its annual contribution from IBEW Local 106 and the Western New York Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), continuing a long-standing partnership which has generated tens of thousands of dollars over the years.
In mid-December, UWCHQ Executive Director Amy Rohler and UWCHQ Northern Chautauqua Community Relations Coordinator Daniel Siracuse met with Dean Roe, IBEW electrician and Local 106 President as well as Philip S. Binkiwitz, BECC Electric CEO, to receive this year’s contribution of $12,431.41. BECC Electric is a member of NECA.
Each year’s donation to United Way is made possible through a long-standing agreement with IBEW and NECA that donates five cents for every hour worked by local union electricians.
“Local unions have been incredible partners in strengthening our community,” said Rohler. “Their commitment — year after year — reflects the power of working together to create lasting change.”
This contribution from IBEW Local 106 and WNY NECA goes toward United Way of Chautauqua County’s 2025 fundraising goal of $1.7 million, helping advance its mission to mobilize the community so every person and family can improve their lives.
United Way of Chautauqua County is committed to improving lives and strengthening communities by mobilizing resources, fostering partnerships and supporting impactful programs. Through collaboration and innovation, United Way works to address the most pressing needs in Chautauqua County, ensuring a brighter future for all.
