CLYMER — The beginning of the Little League season is months away, but work as the Little League administrator in the town of Clymer usually begins around this time of the year.
That work isn’t being done right now while the league looks for a new director.
Town Clerk Wendy Trisket brought up the lack of a Little League administrator during the town’s January meeting, saying they are really in need of someone to take on the position.
“We really need somebody to step up, so if you guys have even the slightest clue of somebody who can help us, wing them in Brian’s direction,” Trisket said.
According to Town Supervisor Brian Willink, the Little League administrator is the league commissioner in charge of working with the other members of the Clymer-Sherman-Panama program with fundraising, scheduling, compliance, signups, communication, and the overall administration of the entire program. Depending on interest in the programs it does involve three potential teams, Pee Wee, Little League and Softball. Willink said ideally the administrator would be someone with kids in one of the programs, but that is not required. It is also a paid position.
“All of a sudden it’s going to be spring and we’re going to be looking for Little League to get started and we don’t have anyone to be the leader this year yet,” Willink said. “Ian and Rachel Kinal did it for the last few years and did an exemplary job and there’s a lot of data that they have that they’d like to give to the next person.”
Trisket said things for the Little League administrator usually begin in January, so they are already falling behind with it.
