Ashville Business Taking Off, Considering Expansions

ASHVILLE – One of the newest businesses in Ashville has seen an incredible amount of success since the initial opening earlier this year. The family duo, inspired by the structure of a relative’s business, has begun expanding into online operations as a result of this success. The duo is hoping to see a continuous growth to allow the operations to expand even further as time goes on.

The Value Vault, located 4844 on Route 474, opened its doors on April 1. The store is owned by father-son duo Steven Ryan and Steven Ryan Jr., who initially began the operation out of their home garage. The younger Ryan noted the initial inspiration came from a family member that owns a similar business in the village of Panama, called T.R. Cool Finds. The store focused on redistributing items at a discount from the original price. Many of these items come from liquidation sales, shelf pulls, discontinuations, or damaged packaging. Ryan stated that the initial need to move into the current location simply came from the growth and success of the idea, noting that there was just simply not enough space to continue in the garage.

Upon initially finding the current location, Ryan stated that the building was in need of a large amount of work. Ryan said that the two built everything down to the walls in the store. This also included replacing all of the light fixtures, redoing the ceiling, mudding, and giving everything a fresh coat of paint.

With the business seeming to have a great amount of success so far, the father and son have been considering ways to expand the reach of operations. Most recently, the business has begun to expand by offering items for sale through online auctions. Ryan stated that the sales will be through the Whatnot platform, which specializes in selling nearly any items. Additionally, Ryan stated that the business is currently looking into the possibility of getting Target High Piece pallets at some point. These are special pallets that contain a large amount of high-value items, which are largely new, according to Ryan. Ryan also stated that the business is looking at potentially expanding into an even larger location. Ryan noted the incredible potential that a larger location could have to allow for the sale of even larger items.

The store’s hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information visit The Value Vault on Facebook.
