The American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation has selected Ella Garrison as Lucia for 2025.

Ella is a junior and Honor Roll student at Falconer High School, where she is actively involved in Senior Concert Band, Marching Band, Senior Choir and school musicals. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Mock Trial Club, Reality Check and Ski Club. Ella performs with the Jamestown Municipal Band and has been active in Girl Scouts. Ella has participated with the local Lucia Program for 10 years.

Lucia Day stems from Italian roots and is traditionally celebrated throughout Sweden on Dec. 13.

Garrison is the daughter of David and Carole Garrison of Jamestown, and is the granddaughter of Sharon Garrison, Renald LaMar, the late Karen LaMar and the late James Garrison.

Sponsored by ASHF, Thule Lodge 127 and the Scandinavian Studies Program, the 2025 Lucia pageant will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. in the Tree of Life Lutheran Church located at 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown. The program is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the Church Hall with coffee, lingonberry drink and traditional Swedish Lucia rolls known as Lussekatter.
