General End Of Year Items On Schedule For Council Work Session
As 2025 begins to wind down, the Jamestown city council’s work session tonight sees many normal, end of the year or the beginning of a new year items on tap.
Besides a presentation by Jamestown Community College representatives regarding a proposed JCC Wellness Complex, other items include the normal approving of banks that the city will use, the required procurement policy, the approval of the Mayor and city council members to attend meetings of the Chautauqua County Conference of Mayors, the Southern Tier West Regional Planning and Development Board, the New York State Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities and any other job-related conferences during 2026, the approval of the official newspaper and the scheduled voting session meeting dates for 2026.
Besides these, also on the agenda is a resolution to amend the 2025 General Fund Budget to appropriate funds to the correct expenditure accounts. This sees an increase in the 2025 Budget slurry/micropaving section for $150,000, and a decrease in the Nova Chip appropriations of $150,000, for a net total budget adjustment of zero.
Games of Chance Bell Jar licenses are also scheduled to be discussed for specific organizations, along with Tower Rate Card requests.
The council’s work session begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the police training room on the fourth floor of city hall. Council committees meet before the work session. The Housing Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. in the police training room with the Finance Committee at 7 p.m. in the mayor’s fourth floor conference room, the Public Safety Committee in the police training room at 7 p.m. and the Public Works Committee in the Development Department conference room at 7 p.m.
