Donation From Business Among New Items On Voting Session Agenda

As the Jamestown City Council prepares to hold their final voting session of the year tonight, among the items listed for approval under new business is a monetary donation from a local business.

Jamestown Electroplating, located at 105 Water St., has donated $3,621 to the city for the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus bottles for the city Fire Department. The resolution listed under new business allows for the city to both accept the donation and extend its gratitude to the business and its owner Chase Churchill.

Another item listed under new business is changing part of the city code when it comes to Alternate Parking on specific streets. The change will allow for an exception to alternate parking be made on Front Street, from Sprague Street to Highland Avenue. Alternate parking in this area will change to one-side-only parking on the south side of Front Street with a maintenance day of Tuesday.

Other items of note on the voting session agenda for tonight’s meeting include; allowing the amendment of the 2025 General Fund budget to realign funds to the correct expenditure accounts, the submission of the 2024 CAPER to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, allocating $200,000 through HOME to the Blooming Gardens project, and a supporting resolution for construction to begin on Phase One of the Jamestown Community College Wellness Complex.

The voting session begins at 7:30 p.m. in the city council chambers on the second floor of city hall.
