There are no more remaining Mormon church buildings in Northern Chautauqua County after a government agency finalized purchasing one in Pomfret.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Sept. 9-15.

During this time period, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints sold 10410 Chestnut Road, Pomfret to Town of Pomfret for $370,000.

The sale has been reported multiple times in the OBSERVER as town leaders have announced their intention to relocate the town hall and court there. They have also invited the town of Dunkirk to relocate there as well, although no decision has been made regarding that proposal.

The building formerly hosted a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, aka Mormon, congregation.

The Pomfret Town Board resolved in March to buy the building, with renovation costs of up to $600,000. Grant funding is supposed to pay for most, if not all, of the project.

According to the Church of Latter-Day Saints website, the only other LDS church in Chautauqua County is located at 851 Forest Ave., Jamestown. There is also an LDS church at 12995 Rt 438 Gowanda-Irving Road, Gowanda, in Cattaraugus County.

Including the sale previously mentioned, from Sept. 9-15 there were 15 sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:
