Local Artist’s Work On Display At Hazeltine Library

Wendy Woodard is pictured with some of her paintings on display at the Hazeltine Public Library in Busti.

BUSTI – After decades away from painting, artist Wendy Woodard rediscovered her talent and has a display of her work at Hazeltine Public Library.

During her school years she spent study halls in the art room, was offered continuing education opportunities in the art field but life intervened and she married, had children and entered the work force.

“Now it’s my time” she reflected. “After 29 years of work, I’ve retired and can return to painting. I use acrylic paint and usually paint from pictures. I am self-taught and enjoy landscapes, dogs, cats and have recently begun doing portraits. More of my work can be seen on my facebook page – Wendy Woodard.”

In addition to her painting Woodard has been a member of the Sweet Adelines, she has also performed with the Chautauqua Shores and Lake Effect Harmony. Currently she sings with the Community Music Project.

“We are pleased to showcase Wendy’s work” said library director Katie Smith. “This is a continuation of our efforts to recognize local talent and give them an opportunity to have their work displayed. Our area is home to some amazing artists, many of them just need someone to invite them to show their work and share their talent. It’s just another way the Hazeltine Public Library works with the community.”
