Madness Most Discreet To Perform Thursday
“Macbeth” is one of William Shakespeare’s most read works.
Students are usually introduced to the play in high school.
Thursday, Madness Most Discreet, will offer a re-imagining of the play entitled “Sound and Fury.”
Madness Most Discreet founder Emily Drew said the performance should fit in perfectly with the Halloween season.
“In ‘Macbeth,’ Shakespeare uses the supernatural to illuminate human greed and evil. The story is full of magic and murder,” Drew said.
According to Shakesspeare.org.uk, three witches tell the Scottish General Macbeth that he will be King of Scotland. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king, and kills more people out of paranoia. Civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more death.
The title of the re-imagining comes from the famous “Tomorrow” speech in the play.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools

Madness Most Discreet is a New York-based professional theater company dedicated to producing bold, engaging works that challenge audiences to think about the world around them.
Drew said the free performance will be held at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Jamestown Skate Products, 207 Pine St.
