JCC Trustees, Faculty Ink 3-Year Deal
The Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees has approved a three-year contract with the college’s Faculty Association.
JCC Human Resources Director Nickey Riczker said the JCCFA ratified the contract which is from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2028.
“This was a very positive process, because there were a number of proposals that were put forward as part of this settlement that were developed by subgroups of the two negotiating teams to work together to come up with proposals that would be satisfactory to both sides,” Riczker said. “So we want to thank the members of the faculty negotiating team as well for a great process.”
Riczker added there is a new matrix associated with agreement. The matrix, Riczker said, is structured in much the same way as Kindergarten through 12th grade public school teacher salaries are structured – by years of service and by rank.
“People will be able to advance through steps, so that provides some predictability for the faculty, and will aid us in recruitment down the road,” Riczker said.
Here is the breakdown of the three-year deal.
2025-2026: full-time faculty – implementation of rank and step matrix. Faculty members whose salaries exceed the salary associated with their rank and step will receive $250, added to base salary.
Part-time faculty – 0 percent added to adjunct salary matrix and Step 6 added to adjunct salary matrix applicable to those
who have taught the equivalent of 91 or more credit hours.
2026-2027: full-time faculty – 1.5 percent added to rank and step matrix. Faculty members whose salaries exceed the salary associated with their rank and step will receive $250, added to base salary.
Part-time faculty – 1 percent added to adjunct salary matrix.
2027-2028: full-time faculty – 1.5 percent added to rank and step matrix. Faculty members whose salaries exceed the salary associated with their rank and step will receive $250, added to base salary.
Part-time faculty – 1 percent added to adjunct salary matrix.
Faculty Association President Cynthia McKane told trustees that the negotiations went very smoothly.
“We’re very happy,” McKane said.
Board Chairman Mark Ward echoed her thoughts.
“We’re all in the same place, and we’re all trying to do the same thing. … We appreciate everything you do,” Ward said.
