A branch building of the Jamestown YMCA has been sold.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate transactions in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 1-8.

During this time period, Young Men’s Christian Association of Jamestown New York sold 727 E. Second St., and an additional parcel on E. Second Street, Jamestown to Reliance Enterprises VI, Inc. of Falconer for $36,000.

This was the location of the Eastside Family YMCA.

The Post-Journal reported in December the building had been listed for sale. The 6,756 square foot building was once home to the 2XL Youth Boxing program prior to the YMCA acquiring the structure in 2003.

In the article, John Barber, YMCA interim chief executive officer, said many of the programs that had been there have new homes. “The Jamestown YMCA is selling the Eastside YMCA because programs operating out of that facility have been relocated to other locations through a progressive process that has been happening over the last five to six years. During that time period, the YMCA shifted our school-based programs to become more accessible to Latino families that now represent nearly 25% of the JPS student population. The YMCA was proud to offer Eastside YMCA, which was known for providing a variety of programs that catered to the needs of Latino families,” he said.

He noted the building had some infrastructure needs and kitchen facility updates that helped determine the decision to sell it.

In a separate sale, R Chadwick Land Holdings, LLC of Westfield sold 8850 W. Main Road, Westfield to AS&LS Holdings, LLC of Westfield for $120,000. This used to be the address of Chautauqua Energy Management, Inc. which is now 100 E. Chautauqua St., Mayville. This is described on the county’s GIS page as a converted residence.

From July 1-8, there were seven sales that were $250,000 or higher. They are as follows:

– 4050 North Oriental Ave., Ellery sold for $395,000.

– 44 Fairwood Drive, Lakewood sold for $305,000.

– 5109 W. Lake Road, Chautauqua town sold for $300,000.

– 588 Prosser Hill Road, Kiantone sold for $299,000.

– 8275 First St., Westfield sold for $298,500.

– 200 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood sold for $250,000.
