Celoron Woman Faces Felony Charges

A Celoron, N.Y., woman faces two third-degree felony charges after allegedly causing more than $10,000 damage to a Sugar Grove resident’s home and vehicle.

Brenda Crossley, 37, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief – catastrophe and two misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another after an incident July 27 in Sugar Grove. She posted bail Monday.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed with the court, State Police at Warren responded to a Busti Road, Sugar Grove, home for a report that Crossley had driven onto the property and damaged the person’s home and vehicle. Crossley allegedly drove through the front yard and parked her vehicle on the lawn, got out of the vehicle and began smashing out windows of the home with a rock and an unknown blunt object. According to the affidavit, there was $6,000 in damage done to the home.

Then, as Crossley was smashing through the bedroom window of the home, Crossley allegedly began screaming she was going to kill the two people in the home before walking around the house to where one the home occupant’s vehicles was parked and allegedly began smashing out the windshield and denting the body of the vehicle with a blunt object, causing $8,000 in damage.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 6.
