WESTFIELD — Westfield Academy and Central School Board of Education members officially approved the appointment of Ryan Sikorski as the new district superintendent at their meeting this week.
Sikorski moves into the position left vacant by Michael Cipolla, who resigned as superintendent in December 2024, to take a position at Randolph Academy. Shelly O’Boyle served as interim superintendent during the time since Cipolla’s departure.
Sikorski was present at the board meeting, along with his wife of 21 years, Colleen, and his three children, Kylie, Paige and Josh.
“The strength of the community support for the school was palpable when I first visited here and that was a big draw for me,” Sikorski said. “It’s an honor to carry on the educational excellence you have here.”
Sikorski received his bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Education from SUNY Buffalo State, followed by a Master of Science in Literacy from the same institution. He received Certificates of Advanced Studies-School District and School Building Leadership from SUNY Fredonia in 2011 and 2018 and completed the New York State Superintendent Development Program at SUNY Oswego in 2022.

Following his years as a teacher and assistant principal at the Fredonia Central School District, Sikorski accepted the position of Middle School Principal for Frontier Central School District, where he served from 2015 through 2022.
Sikorski has served as Adjunct Professor-School of Exceptional Education at Buffalo State University since 2023 and as Director of Secondary Education for Frontier Central School District in Hamburg since 2022. He is also co-president of Western New York Middle School Principals’ Association.
Sikorski has extensive experience in the development of curriculum and professional development opportunities, budget planning and implementation and overseeing a multi-million dollar capital project.
Sikorski lives in Lakeview, but has many family members in the area, he said. “It’s a great opportunity to get back to Chautauqua County,” he said.
Sikorski takes the helm of WACS in the midst of a $23.5 million capital improvement project. However, he said, he was greatly involved in a similar project in his previous district.
Sikorski said the size and involvement of the Westfield community is appealing to him. “This is a place where the community and family value the education of their children,” he said. “I’m ready to get rolling.”
