City Man Charged In North Side Burglary

A Jamestown man has been charged for the second time this year with burglary.

Michael E. Wolfe, 46, of Jamestown was charged at 9:21 a.m. Monday with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools and petit larceny after officers responded to a larceny in progress at a residence on the city’s north side. The resident identified Wolfe, who police say has outstanding arrest warrants from the Jamestown Police Department. Officers located Wolfe nearby and took him into custody without incident.

It was determined that Wolfe had unlawfully entered the victim’s home through a window and stole her wheelchair. Upon inventorying Wolfe’s property, police report he was allegedly found in possession of several burglar tools. Wolfe was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

Wolfe was charged in March with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, petit larceny, second-degree criminal impersonation and resisting arrest after police responded to a south side home for a reported burglary in progress. Police received a report that a man dressed entirely in black was attempting to get inside a home while the homeowners were still inside.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a man inside the garage attached to the home. Officer Kraft Erik and his K-9 officer, Kal, encountered the man as he was leaving the garage, and other officers arrived and tried to detain Wolfe, who then allegedly resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, Wolfe allegedly gave officers a false name because he had outstanding arrest warrants. Police report Wolfe had burglar’s tools when he was caught in the March burglary as well.
