Temporary Construction Easement On Agenda For Voting Session

The voting session of the city council Monday night is set to include a resolution and an agreement under new business regarding a temporary construction easement on Hazeltine Avenue.

According to the voting session agenda, the city is looking to continue reconstruction work on the intersection of Baker Street and Hazeltine Avenue, and in order to do that they need to complete work on and from the private property of 321 Hazeltine Avenue.

The city plans to use a portion of the property to remove an existing driveway entrance, asphalt, and curbing, and to install a new drainage structure, drainage pipe, curbing, and restored lawn area. A temporary construction easement, or a legal agreement that allows for the use of someone else’s property for a certain construction project, temporarily, is set to be acquired by the city from Benderson Development.

The city is also set to vote on submissions of the Consolidated Funding Application for the purposes of both the Pro Housing Supply Fund and the Strategic Planning and Feasibility Studies Program. The submission to the Pro Housing Supply Fund will assist in the financing of essential infrastructure to facilitate new housing developments, and the Strategic Planning and Feasibility Studies Program submission will allow for the city to develop a feasibility study in regards to plans for the old Furniture Mart building.

Also on the agenda is a public hearing in regards to the submission of the city’s CDBG and HOME Five Year Consolidated Plan and Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Action Plan to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The public hearing will begin before the voting session at 6:45 p.m. in the council chambers, to be followed by the voting session at 7:30 p.m. also in the council chambers.
