LAKEWOOD – A village business received the go-ahead to hold its summer music series.

Group Ther-Happy, 103 Chautauqua Ave., will be holding live music on Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m., May 31 through Aug. 30, and Sundays from 5 to 8 p.m., May 25 through Aug. 31.

Village Trustees unanimously approved the special music permit Monday.

“I think it goes along with the ones (permits) that they have had in past years,” Trustee Ellen Barnes said. “It meets our zoning (law), and there is nothing unusual about it.”

Because trustees would meet on Memorial Day, they canceled their May 25 meeting, and instead opted only to meet once this month. The board will meet again on June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

In other business, during their work session, trustees discussed finding contractors who may want to submit estimates for upgrading the Lakewood-Busti Police station. The work includes installing a new floor, and painting.

Barnes said police officials need to present a list of what needs to be upgraded in the station.

Starting at $3.50/week.
