A Dunkirk ice cream factory has purchased a residential home, possibly due to its multi-million dollar expansion project.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from April 1-7.

During this time period, Wells Enterprises, Inc. purchased 817 Main St., Dunkirk for $285,000. This residential property sits across the street from its factory where it is currently doing an expansion project, which is expected to cost around $550 million. Behind the newly purchased residential property is a parking lot owned by Wells.

At last check, the home on the property was still standing. There were some equipment vehicles parked in its driveway.

Including the sale previously mentioned, from April 1-7 there were six sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:

– Home No. 8433, Highlands H Condominium, Canterbury Drive, French Creek sold for $420,000.

– 8414 Brownell Road, Clymer sold for $320,000.

– 660 Route 39, Hanover sold for $310,000.

– 7175 Sherman Stedman Road, North Harmony sold for $280,000.

– 5105 Dean Road, Stockton sold for $275,000.
