Madness Most Discreet To Perform Next Week

Madness Most Discreet will perform Tuesday and Thursday in Jamestown.
Madness Most Discreet will perform twice next week in downtown Jamestown.
The band’s first performance will come at noon Tuesday, May 13, at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts’ Memory Café followed by a pop-up performance for Jumpstart to Third Thursday at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Both events lead up to their full, free Third Thursday performances of “Moonlight Revels” (adapted from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Wintergarden Plaza at 6 and 8 p.m., Thursday, May 15. Each event is offered free of charge.
For the May 13 Memory Cafe at noon in the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts’ Media Arts Studio, Madness Most Discreet will introduce attendees to the most fun and cathartic aspects of being a performer, using movement and voices to play beginner level theater games and engaging together in a short performance.
The collective will return to The Reg on Thursday, May 15, for a Jumpstart to Third Thursday pop-up preview of their performance of “Moonlight Revels.” Concessions open at 4 p.m. for light refreshments, soda, beer, canned cocktails and wine. Outdoor seating and tables under the marquee will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. At 5 p.m. Madness Most Discreet will perform a few scenes from the production under the marquee. Patrons are encouraged to enjoy full performances of “Moonlight Revels” at Third Thursday in Wintergarden Plaza at 6 and 8 p.m.
The Memory Cafe at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts is a free respite and arts program for people with forgetfulness or other changes in their thinking (including cognitive decline, dementia or Alzheimer’s) as well as their care partner, family, or friends. Participants are welcome to enjoy music performances, crafts and easy, appropriate activities to spark friendly social interaction. Light refreshments will be provided. All attendees can choose to participate or simply observe.
Patrons are asked to register for the Reg Lenna Memory Cafe ahead of time by emailing rsvp@reglenna.com or calling The Reg Box Office at 716-484-7070 with the names and number of attendees. A suggested (but not required) donation would support the Reg Lenna Memory Cafe, payable by cash, check and credit card. Enter the building through the Reg Lenna awning entrance (108 E. Third St.) next to Art Cloth+Craft. The Media Arts Studio is elevator-accessible.
The Memory Cafe program at The Reg is made possible by Exhale and its funders: Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and Health Foundation for Western and Central New York.
