Dave Golando

The Jamestown Jazz Concert Series at First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., will continue at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, featuring An Evening With the Dave Golando Quintet.

Area saxophonist, John Cross, will host the event.

Golando, a native of Jamestown, has performed on saxophone and clarinet with more than 100 different regional musical groups for more than 50 years. He is a member of the John & Laura Anderson Big Band, Joe Baudo Big Band, Carol McLaughlin Big Band and the Grandfathers Orchestra. He also performs with the George Scott Big Band, Hit Men Horns and the Pete Ciraolo All-Star Big Band.

Golando has also been the guest soloist with Warsaw College, State University at Fredonia combos and Big Band, Slippery Rock University Big Band and Mercer College.

The Golando Quintet will play a variety of jazz styles including many original compositions. Nicholas Nasibyan will be featured on keyboards and vocals. The concert is free and open to the public with a freewill offering.
