Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a wide range of items, including a two a week stay in North Carolina, High Tea on St. Luke’s Front Porch for six, Buffalo Bills tickets to see the New England Patriots, three-day stay in Findley Lake, home chef experience, gift basket with Penn State tickets, Harbor Hotel overnight package, New York City-themed prints, High Tea prepared by Englishman Ian Earthy, afternoon in nature hike/photography with the Rev. Luke Fodor, drive a Monster Bulldozer, sailboat cruise on Chautauqua Lake with refreshments, Buffalo Bills basket, Buffalo Bills jersey signed by Andre Reed, themed spin class for up to 10 individuals, Buffalo Bills Paint and Sip, and more.
“We are thrilled to host this fun-filled evening,” said Catherine Johnner, committee chair. “It is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, have some fun, and support the repairs of our historical building. We have been blessed by the generosity of our donors, area businesses, and volunteers, and we hope to see a great turnout.”
Money raised by the auction will benefit the repair of the front porch, the next phase of St. Luke’s capital campaign project to preserve the structure of the historical building. The 170-year-old church is a structure of rock-faced Medina sandstone, which blends Late Gothic Revival and Romanesque Revival elements. The church is included on the National Register of Historic Places.
“Public dollars allocated to help preserve buildings like St. Luke’s is very costly because it’s not just our building, it’s the city’s building,” Fodor said. “What I love is that all the buildings in this town don’t belong to any individual. They are our buildings, and they create a sense of place.”
