Glow Your Mind 5k Raises Money, Awareness Of Suicide Prevention

Pictured are the State University at Fredonia Women’s Lacrosse team, the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County’s Director Carri Raynor, and Brad Barmore, E2R founder and owner.

The Glow Your Mind 5K, hosted by the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County, lit up Jackson-Taylor Park recently as runners, walkers and supporters gathered to show their commitment to mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

A highlight of the evening was the donation from Brad Barmore, founder of Eager to Run, a company dedicated to connecting people eager to run, jog, or walk-through community, motivation, and education. Barmore’s contribution will help further the mission of the Suicide Prevention Alliance to promote mental wellness and provide resources to those in need.

“Eager to Run is all about building a community that motivates and uplifts one another, and we’re proud to support the Suicide Prevention Alliance in their efforts to do the same,” Barmore said. “It’s an honor to be part of an event that brings people together for such an important cause.”

David Reinhardt of Trackqua provided race timing. The evening was wrapped up with a glow party featuring music by DJ Vic, photos by Jermaine James Photography and face painting by Festive Faces Painting by Jen. Sponsors and supporters included The Resource Center, GLYS of Western NY, participants, local businesses and other organizations that made this event a success. The State University at Fredonia’s women’s lacrosse team cheered participants on.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, community partners, and volunteers who showed up, lit up, and stood up for suicide prevention. Together, we are truly making a difference and spreading a message of hope and support,” said Carri Raynor, Suicide Prevention Alliance director. “A special thank you to Brad Barmore and Eager 2 Run for their generous donation and the medals for our runners–it was a wonderful surprise at the end of the race.”
