City Recognizes Local Eagle Scout At Council Voting Session
Alex Pashkov, a local 14 year old who just recently earned his Eagle Scout badge was honored by Jamestown Mayor Kim Ecklund and the city council during the September voting session.
City Clerk, Jennifer John, read Ecklund’s letter to Pashkov out loud, which recognized him for his achievements at just 14 years old.
“Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off and we are incredibly proud of you,” John read. “Your work on the Partridge Sheldon House in Jamestown has been nothing short of phenomenal and the city of Jamestown and its residents are deeply grateful for your contributions.”
The letter also recognized Pashkov’s purchasing of the sign for the house and his donation of the rest of his funds to the caretakers and Daughters of the American Revolution. Pashkov has earned 36 merit badges and four awards, which Ecklund’s letter recognized as “outstanding” for someone who is 14.
Pashkov was in attendance at the meeting, and Ecklund welcomed him to the front of the room to present him a certificate from the city.
“I’m just amazed, at 14 I don’t think I knew what I was doing at 14, so that’s really quite impressive,” Ecklund said.
The city of Jamestown commended and recognized Pashkov for achieving his Eagle Scout badge.
“Your remarkable accomplishment of Eagle Scout was proudly earned with dedication, integrity and perseverance,” Ecklund said. “Your drive and work ethic have shown greatly through your many roles, including librarian, webmaster, quartermaster, chaplain aide and assistant senior patrol leader.”
Ecklund recognized Pashkov’s work on the new sign for the Partridge Sheldon House a second time, also acknowledging his donation to the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ecklund said Pashkov’s Eagle Scout badge was well deserved.
