It’s a call to perform.

And it’s for youth and adults.

The Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown is holding auditions Saturday for its production of The Wizard of Oz.

“This is our first ever Little Theater- Junior Guilders collaboration show. This is not just an adult show. This is not a Junior Guilder show where it’s kids only. This is supposed to be everyone in the community. We want adults to come out and audition for the main roles. We want kids to come out and be our Munchkins and our flying monkeys,” said LBLTJ Board President Holly Weston.

The movie-version of the show, Weston said, will be live on stage. Weston added that she had been receiving questions if there are any age limitations, and her answer is “We want everyone (youth and adults) here doing it together.”

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

-Auditions will be held at Little Theatre 18 E. Second St.

-A parent or guardian must attend auditions with all minors to sign their audition forms.

-For auditions please prepare a portion (16-32 bars) of a song from the show or in a

similar style to the show. (Young children may sing something they are comfortable with).

-Please bring printed sheet music, in the preferred key. An Accompanist will be provided.

-Dance experience is not required but preferred. All auditioners should come dressed in comfortable clothes for the choreography portion. Jazz shoes are recommended, but not required. If you have tap or tumbling experience, please be prepared to showcase

these skills.

-Please do not wear flip-flops, Crocs, or sandals.

-In addition to a song of your choice, those auditioning for Dorothy will be asked to sing a small section from “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead!”

For ages 5 to 15, auditions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For ages 16-plus, auditions are scheduled from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dorothy hopefuls, ages 13-plus, should attend the 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. session.
