Anderson Named New Washington MS Assistant Principal

Tim Anderson

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education has approved the appointment of Tim Anderson to serve as the assistant principal on a long-term substitute basis at Washington Middle School.

“We are excited to have Mr. Anderson step in to help support the students, staff, and families of Washington Middle School,” said Tina Sandstrom, assistant superintendent for instruction and school improvement. “Mr. Anderson has been a longtime JPS staff member, colleague, and coach and we look forward to seeing the relationships he will build with the Washington community.”

A Jamestown native and 2002 Jamestown High School graduate, Anderson has spent 16 years teaching in the district, serving as a second grade teacher at the former Rogers Elementary School, a fifth and sixth-grade teacher at Persell Middle School, and most recently as a fourth grade teacher at C.C. Ring Elementary School. He holds a bachelor’s from the State University at Fredonia, a master’s from Walden University, and is currently completing his administrative coursework at SUNY Fredonia.

Anderson has coached basketball for the last 17 years, most notably as the head coach of the JHS girls varsity basketball program and most recently coaching the Jefferson Middle School boys basketball team. He resides in the city with his wife Rachel and his children Raegan, Sawyer, Asher, and Hudson.

“I’m very excited to get started in this new role and start to build relationships with the staff, students, and school community,” said Anderson. “I see this position as a way to impact the student’s educational experience academically, socially, and emotionally and feel that, together as a Washington Middle School family, we can work towards achieving tremendous growth. As a lifelong Jamestown resident, I feel passionate about this community and the potential of its youth.”
