Randolph School Board Approves Agreement To Share Bus Maintenance Facility
RANDOLPH — Randolph Central School’s Board of Education has approved an agreement between the district and Cattaraugus/Little Valley Central School.
The agreement is in regards to the bus maintenance facility and will allow for Randolph to share usage of Cattaraugus/Little Valley’s facility.
“Randolph Central School District will use one bay of the bus maintenance facility at Little Valley Central School District to conduct New York State Department of Transportation inspections,” Superintendent Kaine Kelly said. “The garage previously used by the Randolph Central School District in Coldspring was recently sold, necessitating the need for a new location for inspections.”
Kelly said Cattaraugus/Little Valley school is a neighboring school to Randolph and that they were nice enough to allow them to use their work bay for this purpose. Kelly said the shared garage space is one example of a shared service that can happen between schools. Randolph Central School has also recently entered into an agreement with Randolph Academy UFSD for sharing a school psychologist.
Kelly said sharing the bus maintenance facility is beneficial for both schools.
“The nice thing is that our occasional use of one of their bays will not disrupt their operations,” Kelly said. “This is a fine example of shared services between local school districts that happens frequently.”
