Harmony Works On Routine Road, Park Maintenance
HARMONY — Routine warmer weather work has been going on the roads and in the town park in the town of Harmony over the last few months.
Back in May work was done on Button Valley Road in the town to dig ditches and blacktop the roads. Other routine work continues, but Town Supervisor John Brown said everything in regards to road repair in the town has been pretty normal.
“It changes every day as you would expect,” Brown said. “The most positive thing is that there are shared services going on every day throughout the county with the town’s highway departments. We may have six town’s assisting us today on a road, and tomorrow we may be in another town helping them.”
Similar maintenance work in the town is focused on the park. There was an incident reported to the town back in the May meeting regarding a porta john in the park that was knocked over by some kids. It was reported at the meeting that the parents have been in contact with the town.
“There was speculation about trouble at our town park which never amounted to anything, there was no police report or anything like that,” Brown said.
Also in the park, the town is working on places such as the basketball court which was in need of being resealed, along with spraying for mosquitoes and mowing the lawn.
“The positive thing is that our park is being used by a ball team, we have concessions, and people from our community are enjoying it,” Brown said. “We have regular maintenance like spraying for mosquitoes and sealing blacktop.”
