FREWSBURG – The stage is set at Frewsburg High School’s Harry J. Murray Auditorium for the Bear Players’ 2024 production, Catch Me If You Can: The Musical!

The show will be performed this weekend: Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Catch Me If You Can is based on the 2002 biographical film of the same name starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. The show tells the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr., a teenager who runs away from home following his parents’ divorce and survives by forging checks while also convincingly posing as an airline pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer.

As he travels the country stealing millions of dollars, he is pursued by FBI Special Agent Carl Hanratty, a public servant who is determined to bring Abagnale to justice. Ultimately, the story is one of hope and redemption as Hanratty is able to help Abagnale not only repay society for his crimes but also to gain his footing and find his purpose in life.

Frewsburg’s production of Catch Me If You Can features Xander Pitts as Frank Abagnale, Jr., Taran Laska as Carl Hanratty, Madasyn Lander as Brenda Strong, Nate Colley as Frank Abagnale, Sr., and Madison Howard as Paula Abagnale. A singing, dancing cast of FBI agents, flight attendants, nurses, and other colorful characters join them to tell the story.
