Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Meets

CASSADAGA – Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 met recently with 16 members attending, including one new member. Chaplain Paula Pattison is sending our cards to members as needed; and the Unit recently held a funeral luncheon for the family of a Post 1280 Legionnaire, Jerry Crandall. Ricky Haase will make a new drape for the charter to use when unit members pass away. Unit 1280 had one CVCS student apply for four Auxiliary Dept of NY scholarships; they were sent to the county chairperson and then onto the department chairperson. Poppy chairperson Lauren Sharp is getting things organized for the upcoming “Poppy Days” in May. Plans are in the works for the auxiliary’s annual rummage and back sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Donations can be dropped off at the post after May 12, but it is requested no appliances, computers, electronics or exercise equipment be donated. Unit members voted to donate money to the Sinclairville 76ers’s, and to the Buffalo VA for their Veteran Canteen Coupon books. The next unit meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. April 9. Unit 1280 will be hosting the joint county auxiliary, legion and sons meeting at 6:30 p.m. April 11.
