Falconer Students, Staff Raise Spirits Of Local Sports Fan

If one has attended any of Falconer Central School's sporting events, chances are you've seen Scott James.
James is by all accounts Falconer's biggest fan and supporter seen at most sporting events wearing one of his trademark ball caps, with a shirt sporting the Falconer's Golden Falcon's logo, or working the sidelines in support of his home team's endeavors.
However, James has been down, under the weather and feeling a "little blue" according to some school officials. Thus, the onus for a mass email that went out to students, faculty and staff that read, in part, "Attention all students and staff: On Wednesday January 31st we will be doing a hat day for Scotty James. Scotty is an integral part of FCS and works closely with all of our sports teams. Scotty could really use some help lifting his spirits right now. Please make or bring in a get well soon, thinking of you or any card with some words of encouragement on it in."
Falconer students appeared to answer the call for support.
"It was crazy how many people gave cards and wore hats," said Steven Short, a student at the high school. "Scotty is like our unofficial mascot for the school and a living legend. He's our number one fan and I hope he feels better, we miss him."
James appreciated the well-wishes. According to a post on his Facebook page, James was all smiles.
"Thank you Falconer Central School District and Falconer students for all the support. You don't know how much I appreciate it! Stay healthy, I'm working hard and hope to see you soon."
