HARMONY — An 18-year-old Erie man died Monday after an accident on Panama Stedman Road.

New York State Police at Jamestown said they responded to the one-vehicle accident around 4 p.m. An investigation determined that a 2011 Hyundai traveling north exited the road and struck multiple trees. The passenger, Abdulnaser O. Al Hamwi, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator, Alaa Mohammad Al Zoubi, 20 of Erie, was transported by Mercy Flight to UPMC Hamot for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted in this investigation, which remains ongoing.
