City DAR Chapter Holds President’s Day Luncheon

The Jamestown Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual President”s Day Luncheon on Feb. 17 at Christ First UMC.

In attendance were DAR members and guests and members from The Sons of the American Revolution and veterans from the Dwyer Program. After the luncheon members received certificates celebrating the 10th and 20th anniversaries of years of service. Those members in attendance were Connie Pilato, Arlene Christopherson, and Kim Schnell for 10 years of service and Wendy Brake for 20 years of service. Cindy Reidy spoke to the group about the Dwyer Program and many of their activities and upcoming Military Ball. The guest speaker for the day was Westley Tessey, a Vietnam war veteran and Purple Heart award recipient. He is the founder of Veterans 4 Christ.

Winners of the voices were Elaine Rissel, basket Raffle and Tammy Lachner, the wreath donated by member Carolyn Volk.

Any woman 18 years of age or older who can prove lineage to a patriot who aided in the American Revolution is eligible for membership. The group’s next meeting will be a brunch meeting on March 16 at 9 a.m. at the Partridge -Sheldon House.
