Annual Pennies 4 Paws Fundraiser Kicks Off On Monday

Pennies 4 Paws, the Chautauqua County Humane Society's largest fundraiser of the year, kicks off on Monday.

"This is the 19th year of Pennies, and we are grateful to find such enthusiasm from the community for Pennies 4 Paws each year," said Brian Papalia, director of communication and fundraising. "We are counting on the community to keep that energy and excitement going in 2024. Whether it's the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, who has been our top fundraiser for more than five years, Kay Beaver's efforts with her students at Randolph Elementary, or local businesses that help boost the Pennies effort by hosting money collection canisters, every year it's community support that helps us reach our goal.

"We are again asking the community to get involved to help us create a healthier and more caring community for the animals."

Papalia said it's easy to get involved.

"Get involved by starting a donation drive, holding a penny war, or dress down day," he said. "If you would like a canister for your business or to get involved in other ways, we will be happy to help you. When you get involved, we also would love to tell you more about the life-saving programs you are supporting."

Pennies for Paws continues until April 30. Visit chqhumane.org or contact Papalia at 716-665-2209 ext. 213 or bpapalia@chqhumane.org for more information.
