SHERMAN — Since opening in August, Sharon Eidens with Mama’s Pizza in Sherman has received plenty of community support.
“It’s gone really well,” Eidens said. “The community is wonderful and business has been good.”
Her favorite parts of opening the business this year, she said, have been getting to meet new people and getting to know old friends better. She has also enjoyed getting to spend more time with her friends and family.
Located at 111 W. Main St. in Sherman, the restaurant is open from Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They offer dine-in, take out or delivery and their menus can be found on Facebook or in person at the restaurant.
“Nothing has really caught me by surprise, good or bad,” Eidens said. “I have just had overwhelming support and love from the community, which is a blessing and I am truly grateful.”
One of the plans since the beginning has been to establish a value menu, which is now set to roll out on Jan. 1. Eidens said this menu will give people a more economical option, but food will still be fresh and made to order.
Her hopes for the new year include continuing to thrive as a business and participating in the overall community more.
“We’ve done some fundraisers and we are on the Chamber and have been working with them,” Eidens said. “I hope to be more hands on for those types of things in the future. The staff I have been able to build is beautiful and I also hope to be able to continue to give them and any new hires the ability to be successful.”
A part of being in the community includes feedback, something which Eidens welcomes at any time.
“We want to hear your feedback,” Eidens said. “Positive or negative, or any brainstorming ideas you may have, we want to hear them. We are open to all feedback.”
