CLYMER -- Clymer is placing a year's moratorium on battery storage facilities in the town.
"This will allow us to review our law and make any changes that we feel are necessary during the next 12 months," Town Supervisor Brian Willink said.
The second public hearing of the night was focused on the town's second solar project on Clymer Hill Road by Clean Choice Energy. The developers shared a visual rendering of what the finished project is expected to look like, per the request of the board.
The board also heard a presentation on the plans for the upcoming summer baseball program. The presentation was given to the board by Ian and Rachel Kinal, who will be in charge of the program and who discussed some updates they plan on making.
"They will be making a few improvements, which the town board fully stands behind and supports," Willink said.
Two other projects that the town board has been working on for a few months that are now starting to move forward are the water project and the sidewalk project.
At the December meeting, Willink announced that the town had been given a grant for the water project. As of the January meeting the board has formally accepted the grant, allowing the project to move forward and move towards making improvements on areas such as the town's water tank and the water system.
For the sidewalk project, the board plans on rebidding the project in February to try and get more interested contractors. The plan is to start the project after the Tulip Festival in May.

The board worked on organizational updates, looking through a packet given to them by Town Clerk, Karen Foster. Foster's office is officially moving to the Clymer Fire Hall -- 8756 West Main Street.
The town board tabled the vote on the first solar project by RIC Energy to the February meeting, to allow for more people to be in attendance.
