A fire in Jamestown that broke out just after midnight Friday has displaced a number of people. Firefighters responded at 12:06 a.m. to 96 Bowen St. and found smoke coming from the first floor of a multi-family residence. The fire was out in about a half hour, and crews remained on scene until about 3:30 a.m. No injuries were reported; a dog from a first-floor apartment was rescued. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. In a news release, the Jamestown Fire Department said the displaced occupants were being assisted by the Red Cross.
