Six people are facing drug possession charges after raids at two city homes this week netted fentanyl, the Jamestown Police Department announced.
Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and narcotics investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office executed warrants Tuesday at 13 Crossman St. and later at 15 Hazzard St.
On Crossman, which was entered a little after 6 a.m., police found Jarvelle Leeper, 41, and an adult female inside. Detectives eventually located 33.5 grams of fentanyl, scales, packaging materials and a small amount of cash.
Afterward, police entered the Hazzard Street property where 36-year-old Amanda Penhollow, 45-year-old Monroe Wilcox, 38-year-old Christopher Haberberger, 34-year-old Amanda McKendree and 36-year-old Luis Ruiz were found inside.
A search turned up a "small quantity of fentanyl," the Jamestown Police Department announced in a news release.
As a result of the raids, Leeper is facing two counts each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Penhollow, Wilcox, Haberberger, McKendree and Ruiz are each facing a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Penhollow is facing an additional charge of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Jamestown police were assisted Tuesday by the Sheriff's Office, Chautauqua County Tac Meds, Jamestown Fire Department and city Department of Development.
