Silver Creek Approves Rental Law, CSEA Contract

SILVER CREEK — Two long-awaited resolutions in the village of Silver Creek were passed at a meeting this month.

First, the Village Board approved Local Law 2 to regulate short-term rental properties in the village. A public hearing was previously held on the matter, “with no negative comments,” according to Mayor Jeff Hornburg. The law will take effect once filed officially with the state of New York.

Next, the Village Board approved an agreement for a new contract between the Village of Silver Creek and the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) for municipal employees. The Village had been operating without a contract for multiple years, so the new contract is retroactive from June 1, 2020 and runs through May 31, 2026.

“I want to give another big thank you to all the employees, union reps, and our legal counsel for the successful negotiations to ratify this CSEA contract,” said Village Trustee Kathy Tampio. “Most especially, I thank Mayor Hornburg for his perseverance and diligence to get this done.”

The Village Board also approved the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club to hold its annual Christmas in the Park celebration on Saturday, Dec. 2, from noon until 3 p.m., at the Village Square.
