‘Light Up Cassadaga’ To Be Held Saturday

CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga announced that “Light Up Cassadaga,” which will be held at Ames Common on the corner of Maple Avenue and Route 60, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2.

At 3:30 p.m. Santa Claus will arrive via fire truck and will listen to children’s requests until 5 p.m. The Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be offering free hot chocolate. There will be fire pits to help keep attendees warm in addition to Cassadaga Library where children can choose a free book, do an activity and where refreshments will be served until 6 p.m.

A living nativity will be presented at the Park Church across the street from the library from 3:30-4:45 p.m. There will also be snacks at the church, which will remain open until the.

Citizens for a Better Cassadaga are selling basket raffle tickets. Baskets will include all kinds of goodies featuring items from local businesses. The winner will be drawn at the Light Up celebration. At 5 p.m., caroling will begin at Ames Common and the park will light up with a multitude of lights.

At 6 p.m. the Valley Community Choir will present the Christmas cantata, “Emmanuel Has Come” at Park Church.
