A shopping plaza near Tops Markets in Jamestown has changed ownership.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from May 19-31.

During that time period, Jeneric Inc. of Lakewood sold 2100 and 2124 Washington St., Jamestown to Jamestown Washington 2100 LLC of Holland, Mich. for $220,000.

The plaza is currently home to Pizza Express and Veronica’s Closet. Before Veronica’s Closet, House of Television was located there.

Veronica’s Closet is a second-hand women’s clothing store. According to its Facebook page, the business was previously known as the Backroom Boutique in Falconer. On Aug. 25, the owner of the business posted, “Today is the last day as The Backroom Boutique in Falconer. For three and a half years I have put everything I can into my little store. I made it through a pandemic but I can’t seem to make it through ‘the homeless hotel.’ Thank you to everyone who has come and supported me and my business. I have made some amazing friends here. I hope you all come to see me at my new location: 2100 Washington St, Jamestown. Changing the name to Veronica’s Closet!”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Veronica’s Closet on Sept. 12.

In a separate sale, the village of Fredonia purchased 18 Porter Ave., Fredonia for $10,000. According to village Trustee Jon Espersen, it is an abandoned house on a small lot. The village board purchased it because the culvert on Porter Avenue needed to be replaced, and that is right next to the property. He added that the county would pay for the culvert work.
